| Dear friends and supporters, I’m excited to share KOPER8, a reflection on the submarine communication cable systems that travel across the ocean floor and make our “wireless” communication possible. This new project was born out of a residency with my dear friend and longtime collaborator, Jannis Anastasakis, at the extraordinary Figure 8 Recording Studio in Brooklyn last year—generously hosted by our dear friend Shahzad Ismaily. Our debut LP features Tim Berne and Tom Rainey, and was mixed and mastered by David Torn, whose unique understanding of texture, improvisation, and sonic space adds an incredible dimension to the album. The result thrilled all of us, and we’re happy to announce the vinyl release of the record on Defkaz records. You can find it online on Bandcamp:https://defkaz.bandcamp.com/album/koper8 Tim Berne – alto sax Giuseppe Doronzo – baritone sax Jannis Anastasakis – Guitar, synth bass, electronics Tom Rainey – drums |
